Hey! Love the list, it gives me some ideas on top notch lit now! I noticed that you haven't read Corelli's Mandolin, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read it. That is one of my all time favorite books.
I thought I would do better, too. I think my list is better.
I read 42 (isn't that the answer to life, the universe, and everything?), but some of the books aren't good--"The Da Vinci Code"? That's not literature, that's what I call "lite" reading. Some of the books are too new to be considered literature. Sorry, I guess I'm just a grumpy old English teacher... grrr...
I have read 29 of those books. But I've read a lot of other books NOT on the list. Big ones, too. The BBC can take their snooty list! I'm going to make my own list, and the only books on it will be books I've read! And then I would be awesome.
Wow! I read 30. That really surprised me.
But I am going to bring the list with me next time to book club to give us some ideas.
