The Forbidden City!
Entering the Forbidden City from the back. We were able to miss a lot of the crowds this way. The back entrance takes you through the Emperor's gardens. I have to say that of all of the things we saw in Beijing, the Forbidden City was probably my favorite. It was very impressive.
See? Lilia is already impressed.
Or maybe still a little sleepy...

Notice the little animals on the roof? They are guardians of the building. Every building in the Forbidden City had them. Our tour guide told us that the more animals/ guardians a building had, the more powerful the person who lived or worked there. The emperor's quarters had 11 guardians.

I think this building and room house the Emperor's seals or stamps. I'm not 100% on that, but I think that is what is going on here.

Lilia claps for the Forbidden City!

Lilia yells for the Forbidden City!

The May family in the FORBIDDEN CITY!!!
